When you’re looking for an inexpensive way to make memories with your family, movie nights are an awesome idea. And you don’t even have to leave home! Our most recent family movie night featured Toy Story 4 and I’m sharing all the fun ideas I incorporated, so you can host a memorable Toy Story movie night too!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a family movie night. There’s really no reason why besides our busy schedules. When I saw that Toy Story 4 was going to be available for streaming on Disney+ this month, I knew right away our drought was over.
It’s important when planning a family movie night, that you choose a movie everyone will love. My whole family enjoys the Toy Story movies. My boyfriend and I grew up watching them, and even our kids go through periods of time where they watch them on repeat. But none of us had ever seen Toy Story 4, so it was the perfect pick for our movie night.
I checked our calendar and set a date. After that, the planning began. We were going to need dinner, snacks, sweets, anything and everything to make it a memorable night together.
Here’s what I came up with!
Printable Toy Story Movie Tickets
What’s the one thing you need to get into a movie?
And the same applies for family movie night at home. Okay … so you don’t have to have a movie ticket for family movie night. But I find it makes the experience much more fun.

Luckily, family movie night tickets aren’t purchased with money. Instead, they are earned throughout the week by doing chores, completing homework daily, displaying good behavior, and offering a helping hand.
For our most recent feature presentation, I created these printable Toy Story movie tickets. After ensuring each person earned their entry, the tickets were dispersed and everyone was amped up for movie night to start.
Toy Story Movie Night Menu
What’s a movie without snacks and drinks? So before the movie could start I had to make sure the menu was prepared. And this was a fun one!

- Pizza (Because Pizza Planet, duh!)
- Green Alien Punch and/or Bo Peep’s Pink Lemonade
- Popcorn (Make it fun by serving it in these Printable Woody-inspired Popcorn Boxes by Raising Whasians.)
- Woody’s “Snake in my Boot” Gummy Snakes

And check out these fun Buzz Lightyear Floats, from Hunny I’m Home. They’ll take any Toy Story movie night to infinity and beyond!
Toy Story Movie Night Intermission
With food, drinks and snacks in hand, the movie started rolling. But it wasn’t long before an intermission was needed.
Unlike watching a movie at the theater, a perk of having a movie night at home is that you can easily stop the movie for a quick intermission. It’s a great time for a bathroom break and an even better time to make Buzz Lightyear’s “Hot Delicious Schmoes” (S’mores).

Dinner, then Dessert has some great tips for making S’mores in the oven or microwave, or on the stove or grill. They’re all perfect ideas when you want “Hot Delicious Schmoes” in a hurry, so you can get back to the movie.
Toy Story Coloring Pages
After any movie night, my kids are in one of two stages – tired and knocked out, or excited and wanting more fun. This time around it was the latter of the two, but I was prepared with a post-movie activity – Toy Story coloring pages.
I didn’t have to go far to find them, either. Living in Happy Place has 10 free printable Toy Story 4 coloring pages! That’s more than enough coloring fun for the whole family.
Family movie night was a complete success! We all got to enjoy a new movie with some of our favorite characters and filled our bellies with delicious food and snacks. Best of all, we got to spend some time together.
Have you ever had a family movie night at home? How do you make it fun for everyone?
