As usual, the school year has flown by. Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and before we know it, summer will be here! Having volunteered in my son’s classroom, I realize just how much love and support our teachers need. There’s no way in heck I could put up with that many kids every day for 180 days, and especially not at the pay they receive. So when it comes time for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week, or even the end of the school year, I have no problem gifting my son’s teachers with something. So with a little help from my blogger friends, I’ve rounded up 10 Easy (non-coffee mug) DIY Teacher Appreciation Gifts to give you some ideas.
One of my favorite things to send to school with my son are flowers, at least for his female teachers. They may not last long, but they’re a thoughtful gift. Not to mention, even if my son has several teachers (I think he has 5 this year…eek…don’t forget the classroom assistants, music teacher, art teacher, gym teacher, etc.), I can purchase 1 large bouquet and split them up into smaller bouquets, so it’s also an affordable gift.
I print out some cute little “Thank you for helping me BLOOM in your classroom!” notes, have my son sign his name, and tie them to the bouquets. Just like that, my little flower delivery guy is ready to show his teachers some love.
Now, if your child’s teacher is a male, flowers may not work, but gift cards and other goodies certainly will, and that’s where my blogger friends come in. Check out some of their fun ideas!
