It’s always a good day when I can relive fun times from my childhood. One of my favorite childhood memories? Playing Sonic the Hedgehog on my uncles Sega Genesis. Today, I can close my eyes and see that fast little hedgehog rolling through the hills, and hear the sound made from collecting the shiny gold rings. That’s not something I’ll ever forget. It’s just too iconic.
So, how am I reliving that childhood memory and sharing it with my kids? With the Sonic Boom Limited Edition Gift Set and playing Sonic on our PS4!

I’ve always been a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. Ya’ll, I kid you not, I was Sonic for Halloween when I was in the 2nd grade. I remember this probably because, at the time, I had a leg cast from the knee down, but I also remember being dressed up in all blue with a foam headpiece to mimic Sonic’s spiky hair. I mean, how could anyone forget that hair?
My son is in the 2nd grade now and I love that he watches Sonic cartoons and knows enough about Sonic, that he would totally dress up as the blue hedgehog too. (Check out our DIY Sonic the Hedgehog Mask below!)
That said, we’re both really excited about NCircle Entertainment‘s release of the Sonic Boom Limited Edition Gift Set. The set includes Season 1, Volume 1 of Sonic Boom (on DVD) and 2 fun toy figures – Sonic, himself, and the enemy everyone saw coming, Dr. Eggman.
Forget binge watching Netflix, we binge watched Sonic Boom!

Wherever he goes and whatever he’s up against, Sonic the Hedgehog is aided by his sidekick, Tails, and his friends Knuckles, Amy, and Sticks and, of course, attacked by his arch nemesis, Dr. Eggman.

Sonic the Hedgehog on PS4
Since we’re talking about Sonic the Hedgehog, you may be wondering about the ability to play Sonic on gaming systems today. Of course, when I was a kid, Sonic was played on the Sega Genesis, but that’s outdated now. Is it possible to play Sonic on today’s gaming devices if you don’t have an original Sega? Of course you can, and we do!
And guess what? I’ve teamed up with NCircle Entertainment to give one lucky Making Time for Memories reader a Sonic Boom Limited Edition Gift Set AND a copy of Team Sonic Racing for PS4! Enter using the giveaway form below.
