How to Play:

Divide the family into 2 teams. You can either place all the charades cards in a single pile and randomly choose a card as you go, or the charades cards are color coded with black and gold outlines, so you could split them up. Black cards for the black team and gold cards for the gold team.

(Note that there are 14 black cards and 13 gold cards. If playing by card color, you may want to choose one of the black cards to be excluded from play.)

Each team takes a turn with one person from the team randomly choosing a charades card. That one player is the only person allowed to see what’s on the card. That same player uses body movement and hand gestures to act out what’s on the card. Meanwhile, the rest of the team tries to guess what their teammate is acting out. If the team guesses correctly, they earn a point.

Keep in mind that each turn only has a certain amount of time to guess the charade. The typical time limit is 3 minutes, but you can change it up for whatever works for your family. If the team runs out of time without guessing the correct answer, they do not earn a point.

Once all of the charades cards have been acted out, the team with the most points, wins.

Happy New Year!
