If you follow me on social (I hope you are!), then you know that over the weekend we kicked off spring break with a trip to Hertz Arena to see a performance of Disney On Ice presents Frozen. This was our first Disney On Ice experience and definitely a night of memories we’ll never forget. I want to share it all with you and even give you a video sneak peek of the show.
~To help facilitate this post, I received complimentary tickets from Feld Entertainment to attend Disney On Ice presents Frozen at Hertz Arena. As always, opinions are still 100% my own.~
Baby’s First Disney Show
We really debated taking our 10 month old to the show. Me and my two oldest almost left him and daddy at home. Past experiences with our kids have shown that big spaces with a lot of people and loud noises, just don’t work well for them. It’s only a matter of time before the crying starts. Our youngest had never been in a situation like that before and we thought he may react like his older siblings.
Luckily, we decided the whole family would go and I’m so glad we did. Our little guy had the time of his life! He was dancing and pointing and playing into the whole performance. I tried to get video of him enjoying himself, but he was sitting in my lap trying to eat my phone, so I couldn’t make it happen. But we couldn’t have asked for a better night for him. It will be a great memory for sure!
Snow in Florida
I never thought I’d see snow in Florida, but Disney On Ice creates the impossible. There were many times during the Frozen show that “snow” fell, really setting the scene and giving it a real life feel. And quite honestly, the coolness from the rink and the A/C pumping throughout the arena, was a nice break from the 80 degree weather we’ve been having here lately. It’s exactly what’s needed for a real Frozen experience.
Olaf is the Man, the Snowman
No surprise, Olaf, or as my daughter says, Ooo-laf, was a big hit with the kids. It was really hard not to sing along to his “Frozen in Summer” performance. My daughter loves him (who doesn’t?) and will never forget seeing him perform. She so badly wanted a snow cone in an Olaf cup, so I did what any Disney Mom would do – I got her one. It’s only been a few days, but every time she uses her cup, she asks about going back to see him.
I just hope that while Olaf was in Florida this weekend, he got the chance to “do what frozen things do in summerrrrrrrr.”
Disney Characters Galore
While the show was centered around the Frozen story, many Disney characters made an appearance – Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, Snow White, Woody, Buzz, Timon, Pumba, Dory, Nemo, Mickey, Minnie, and so many more. It’s not often you get to see all of your favorite Disney characters in one room, so it was a sight for any Disney fan.
So these are just some of the fun things we’ll remember from our first Disney On Ice experience. I put together a short, 2 minute recap video of the performance so you can get a little taste of the experience too. Marshmallow the snow monster was my favorite part, so be sure to watch until then. And don’t forget to check and see if they’re coming to an arena near you, so you can enjoy it in person! I can’t wait to see what performance they have in store next.
