Channel your inner 7 year old for a minute. If you had just finished a weekend long soccer tournament (in 90+ degree weather at that), what would be your post-tournament treat of choice? For my 7 year old son it’s an ice cream sundae! And not just any ice cream sundae, but one with as much chocolate syrup as mom will put on it. Luckily for him, I have a secret weapon that allows him to get all the chocolate syrup he wants, without me feeling guilty as a parent.

In my house, holiday weekends are for soccer tournaments. Labor Day Weekend is no exception, even with a hurricane headed our way. After 4 games in the scorching Florida heat, I believe my son has earned a post-tournament treat. His choice? An ice cream sundae with all the chocolate syrup.
Now, typically I’d be a little cautious about exactly how much chocolate syrup my son adds to his ice cream, but given this was a well-deserved treat and the fact that I just got some Once Again Organic Amore Almond Spread with Milk Chocolate, I decided he could have all the chocolate syrup he wanted (this time).
Before you get all judgy, let me tell you what makes this Amore Almond Spread with Milk Chocolate so special.
We’ve been a big fan of the Once Again brand for a couple of years. We love their organic nut butters – peanut, almond, cashew, sunflower – creamy, crunchy, no-stir, salt-free – unsweetened, lightly sweetened, roasted – so many options! The cashew butter is my personal favorite.
I fell in love with this gift from Once Again, of little 2 oz. sized jars of their nut butters. They make on-the-go snacking so much easier. I can easily pack in my bag some cut up celery stalks or apple slices, along with one of these little jars of nut butters, and when little (and big) tummies get hungry, it’s so easy to dip the snacks into the nut butter. Plus, they’re perfect for sending in my son’s lunch box.
I don’t think these 2 oz. jars are available for purchase and were a gift from Once Again, but they do have squeeze packs, which are just as portable for easy and on-the-go snacking.
Okay, so back to the Amore Almond Spread with Milk Chocolate. When I saw Once Again came out with it, I knew we had to try it. They have a whole new line of gourmet dessert butters and this is just one of the four new butters.
Like other Once Again products, the Amore Almond Spread with Milk Chocolate is sustainably made and sourced, gluten-free, non-GMO and certified organic. All around, it’s a healthier option than other dessert butters.
Let me tell you, it does not disappoint. The thick, creamy texture is just like that of a regular nut butter, but the addition of cocoa and milk makes it perfect for pairing with berries, fruit, or in this case, over ice cream. Honestly, it could easily be a guilty, or not so guilty, pleasure.
Ya know, one of those parent moments where you hide in the closet so you can actually have a treat alone. This is perfect for that! After topping my son’s ice cream sundae, I licked the spoon clean…and then went back for more.
This holiday weekend has been a complete success in my book. My son’s team placed 2nd in their first soccer tournament of the season. Woohoo! Add to that his choice of post-tournament treat, which we all got to enjoy, and I’d call it a wrap. Another medal earned and a newfound favorite, not so guilty pleasure sounds like a win to me!
