I have to admit, when the whole Harry Potter craze was happening – I say was, but Harry Potter is so epic, I don’t think it will ever be irrelevant. Anyways, when the movies were coming out, one after another and everyone was going crazy, I wanted nothing to do with it.
Yeah, I know. Go ahead and bash me.
BUT about a year or so ago, I caught a Harry Potter marathon on Syfy or something, and was immediately hooked. It started with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and grew from there. Like, I didn’t want to go to bed just so I could finish watching everything. I was determined to find out the ultimate ending.
Ya’ll, I’m not a bandwagon jumper, but this was one I couldn’t resist jumping on. I was actually mad at myself for waiting so long. Now, I want all the Harry Potter – mugs, shirts, decor, you name it. The muggle is real! (See what I did there, haha.)
I may not be able to get all things Harry Potter (pretty sure my boyfriend would commit me), but I add fun things here and there, like these Harry Potter board games from Pressman Toy. They’re something the whole family can enjoy!

So without further ado, let me welcome you to Muggle Family Game Night, where the butterbeer is on tap and Hogwarts has a special place in everyone’s heart. On the agenda is the Harry Potter Tri-Wizard Maze Game and the Harry Potter Magical Beasts Game.
Harry Potter Tri-Wizard Maze Game
The Tri-Wizard Maze is a huge turning point in the Harry Potter series, as it’s the first time we actually see Voldemort, so of course it’s going to be fun to play. As the Tri-Wizard maze is a race between the contestants, the board game takes on the same concept with a classic pop ‘n’ race style. Players race through the Tri-Wizard maze towards the finish line and the Tri-Wizard Cup. But players beware because traps and magical spells (cards) could ruin your lead and send you backwards in the maze.
Harry Potter Magical Beasts Game
Want to explore Hogwarts inside and out? This is the game to do it. Magical beasts are running wild at Hogwarts and it’s up to Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny, to save the school. Using a unique swinging game board, players explore the grounds of Hogwarts (inside and out), while collecting elements to capture the beasts. The first player to collect all the clues and correctly guess which magical beast they have captured, wins. Watch out though, because moving from inside Hogwarts to the grounds nearby can be treacherous, costing players clues and precious time.
We’ve had many a muggle turn wizard here and it’s always a great time when I pull these games out. I can’t wait to add a few more to our Muggle Family Game Night.
