Well, the truth is, unlike most people I do actually like doing laundry (minus putting it away), but I’m certainly not addicted to it. I’d definitely rather spend my time doing something else and I only do our laundry when it needs to be done. That’s it.
Lately, I’ve been noticing the laundry pile starts to smell after just a few days. I think a lot of it has to do with wet dish rags and bath towels piling up, and getting that musty, moldy, mildew smell. And it’s even hard to get rid of those smells after a regular cycle through the wash. That is, until I started using EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer.
EnviroKlenz offers a variety of home products that eliminate odors and chemicals in your everyday life – laundry and linens, air space, home surfaces and more. As the name suggests, EnviroKlenz products are safe, non-toxic, eco-friendly, and fragrance free. The products are completely safe for those who have sensitivities to certain smells and rather than adding additional fragrances, the products eliminate the source of the unwanted odor.
I first tried EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer in my regular laundry. Everything from under garments, to pants and tees, kitchen linens and bathroom towels. I don’t think our laundry has ever smelt and felt so fresh. And I say it smelled fresh, but what I mean by that is all odors had been eliminated. No body odors, no perfumes, no musty and moldy smells, nothing but odor free clothes and linens.
The product itself is an odorless, milky white substance that’s sort of thick and foamy. The directions are to add 1/4 cup (small load) or 1/2 cup (large load) after letting the washing machine fill partially with water, and before loading clothes in the machine.
Unfortunately, I have a digital washing machine and have to load the clothes in order for the machine to properly sense the amount of water needed for the load. So I put the EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer in the oxi section of the detergent tray and didn’t have a problem.
Then as I was putting my kids’ clothes away in their room, I realized the room itself didn’t smell as clean as it could. My kids are only ages 5 and 1, so where the heck the odor even came from, I have no idea. Maybe it was just from everyday use. I decided to try EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer on their bedroom rugs considering the amount of traffic they get.
You guys!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a difference it made and the product didn’t alter or damage the color of the rugs or anything. I walk in and it’s like a whole ‘nother room. Simply washing their rugs with EnviroKlenz made the whole room feel and smell lighter.
And I didn’t stop there. I took it a step further and washed the blankets they were using. I’m now at the point where I’m going through my home and literally washing everything that can go in the washing machine.
Hmm, I guess I can see why my boyfriend thinks I’m addicted to doing the laundry.
We’ve lived in our apartment for seven months now and have never taken the opportunity to wash the shower curtain or the living room curtains, so that’s been done too. I’m telling you, the whole place feels and smells lighter now. Just imagine how musty these linens were before from all the in and out, the use they’re getting and the everyday smells that come through our home. They’re soaking it all up and I never realized how much they needed to be washed, all the way down to eliminating the odors I got so used to.
